Our Story

essyosa came as the result of my own struggle to find high-quality swimwear pieces that made me feel confident & comfortable. As someone who is in-between sizes, I have always faced difficulties in finding swimwear that offers both support and style.

I set out to create swimwear that not only offered great support and comfort but also served as a cute fashion statement. I also wanted to build my brand on ethical principles and felt determined to create a brand that prioritised responsible production and tackled overconsumption by creating long-lasting, quality pieces.✩

Our Values

essyosa is dedicated to individuals seeking comfort, style, and quality in their swimwear. We aim to offer inclusive sizing & are considering ways to evolve our current size range. Our core values revolve around crafting pieces that empower women to feel truly comfortable and beautiful in their own skin.

Support & Comfort: Our Design Philosophy

A key focus in my design process is creating swimwear that feels supportive and comfortable, particularly for women with larger cup sizes. I understand the frustration of feeling like you might be spilling out of a bikini top and have designed our Imade bikini top to alleviate this, offering a secure and comfortable fit. I also carefully select our fabrics from UK suppliers, ensuring that they feel comfortable, stretchy, and durable.

Our Production Process

From initial sketches, I collaborated closely with skilled dressmakers in London. Our products are sampled and printed in London, allowing me to oversee the development, attend fittings and ensure the high standards of quality.

Our manufacturing takes place in a small factory in Europe, who are partnered with our dressmakers. For our unique logo prints, we work with an independent studio in London to maintain oversight and support local businesses.

Sustainability ♻️

We are a slow-fashion brand and are conscious of our carbon footprint. We actively seek to work with local businesses for our packaging and finishing touches. Our boxes are sustainable and made in Europe, our tissue paper is recycled and our labels are crafted by an independent local seller. We are also actively researching and looking into creating swimwear pieces using recycled materials as we evolve.

Our Culture & Heritage

As a Black-owned business, culture and heritage are at the heart of essyosa. As part of my Nigerian, Edo heritage, I have incorporated beautiful Bini names into my designs. This choice serves as a personal homage to my roots, recognising the artistic spirit of Edo people and adding cultural significance to each piece I create. I also chose the brand name ‘essyosa’ after my own birth name, Esosa.

Our Vision

My ultimate goal is to build a vibrant community of women who feel confident and supported by essyosa, whilst contributing positively to the swimwear industry. I want to create products that they can trust, rely on, and return to each season.

My hope is that these pieces will empower you to feel confident and beautiful, every time you wear them!
